Limited to 10 students.
In 10 weeks (2.75 hours per week; total 27.5 hours) you will carve and paint a life-size Rose-breasted Grosbeak. You will learn how to mount the carving on a natural base (base can be supplied or you may wish to bring your own). This class will be of interest to carvers of any experience level - whether you have never carved a bird before or you are an expert carver, you will find this an enjoyable and challenging project. Cam works with each individual student based on their experience and abilities. When the class is finished you'll have a beautiful carving that you will be proud to display! And you will also have learned many new skills.
A fee of $250.00 includes everything - a bandsawn basswood blank, glass eyes, study notes, pattern, paint, and any other tools and supplies as needed (also includes all applicable taxes). All you need to bring is a desire to carve your bird!
The Razertip classroom is a fully-equipped accessible facility where each workstation has all the top-quality tools and equipment you'll need to complete your project. Even if you have tools of your own, you won't need to bring them (unless you really want to). With a selection of workshops year-round the Razertip Classroom offers everyone the opportunity to discover carving and pyrography.
